HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lori Greiner on her
4successful career as a self-made inventor, entrepreneur, and
5television personality; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Lori Greiner grew up on the Near North Side of
7Chicago and attended Loyola University; while in college, she
8worked for the Chicago Tribune; and
 
9    WHEREAS, In 1996, Lori Greiner launched her career when she
10designed and patented a plastic earring organizer that was
11picked up by J.C. Penney before the holiday season; after her
12success with J.C. Penney, she started her own company and
13successfully designed and patented other consumer products;
14her products were sold on the Home Shopping Network and at Bed,
15Bath & Beyond; and
 
16    WHEREAS, In 2000, Lori Greiner transition to QVC, where she
17began hosting Clever & Unique Creations, one of the
18longest-running shows on the network; in 2012, she joined the
19television show Shark Tank; in 2014, her investment in Scrub
20Daddy, a company that produces a texture changing household
21sponge, was noted as one of the biggest successes in Shark Tank
22history; her other successful Shark Tank investments include

1Screenmend, FiberFix, Sleep Styler, and Squatty Potty; she
2currently holds over 120 U.S. patents and has created over 700
3products; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Lori Greiner has achieved success through her
5talent, hard work, and perseverance and serves as a model for
6all future entrepreneurs; her sharp instincts and hands-on
7approach to business have created a true American success
8story; in addition to her efforts in helping people's dreams
9become reality and her passion to help make people's everyday
10lives easier through consumer products, she is a sought-after
11speaker, a published author, and a generous supporter of a
12variety of charitable causes and organizations; therefore, be
13it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
15HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
16we congratulate Lori Greiner on her successful career as an
17inventor, entrepreneur, and television personality; and be it
18further
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20presented to Lori Greiner as an expression of our esteem and
21respect.
