HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate James A. Cripe on the occasion of his retirement as Director of Piatt County 9-1-1; and

WHEREAS, On April 12, 1994, The Piatt County Board established the Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board by ordinance and charged them with the responsibility of establishing an Enhanced 9-1-1 Telephone System; and

WHEREAS, The Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board activated the E9-1-1 Telephone System in July of 1997, and the first call in Piatt County was received; and

WHEREAS, The Piatt County Emergency Telephone System Board launched a search to fill the newly-created full-time position of E9-1-1 Director in January of 1998; and

WHEREAS, James Cripe of Bloomington-Normal began his first day of service on October 5, 1998; and

WHEREAS, For the next 21 years, James Cripe continued to implement and maintain the E9-1-1 Telephone System; he continued planning and implementing multiple system upgrades, including the preparation for a Next Generation 9-1-1 upgrade; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate James A. Cripe on the occasion of his retirement as Director of Piatt County 9-1-1 on June 28, 2019, commend his 21 years of service, and wish him success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to James Cripe as an expression of our esteem and respect.
