HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Alan Stoeckel on the occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Palatine Police Department; and

WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel began his career as a patrolman in 1985; and

WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel rose through the ranks and served as a field training officer and as a crime scene technician, where he assisted in the processing of evidence in the Brown's Chicken murders in 1993 and subsequently testified in the successful prosecution of the perpetrators; and

WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel was appointed chief in 2014, a position he held for five years; and

WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel graduated from the FBI National Academy Class #251 and from the Southern Police Institute Administrative Officers Course #102; he is a member of the FBI National Academy of Associates, the North Suburban Association of Chiefs of Police, where he served as president, the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, and the International Association of Chiefs of Police; and

WHEREAS, Chief Stoeckel and his wife, Cindy, are the parents of Amanda, Allison (Dale), and Andy and the grandparents of Lincoln; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Alan Stoeckel on the occasion of his retirement as Chief of the Palatine Police Department, commend his 34-year career, and wish him success in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Chief Stoeckel as an expression of our esteem and respect.
