HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Dan Alan Hageman on the
4occasion of his retirement after 50 years of coaching; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Coach Hageman began his career in elementary
6physical education in 1969 at Catlin Grade School; he started
7coaching high school football in 1970 at Catlin High School; in
82002, he retired from teaching but continued to coach football;
9his career highlights began with the 1976 Wolverine Machine in
10which Catlin High School appeared in the playoffs for five
11consecutive years and won 33 consecutive East Central
12Conference games; over the last 50 years, his teams have
13participated in 29 Illinois High School Association state
14playoffs; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Coach Hageman was inducted into the Illinois High
16School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2007; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Coach Hageman married his wife, Donna, in 1975; he
18enjoys spending time with his three children, Angela, Joe, and
19Doug and his seven grandchildren, Evan, Payton, Jordan, Jacey,
20Hayden, Robbie, and Ryne; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Coach Hageman has only missed one practice in the

1last 50 years and has positively impacted the lives of
2countless students; therefore, be it
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
4HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
5we congratulate Dan Alan Hageman on his retirement after 50
6years of coaching, and we wish him the best in all his future
7endeavors; and be it further
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9presented to Coach Hageman as a symbol of our respect and
10esteem.
