HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Dan Alan Hageman on the occasion of his retirement after 50 years of coaching; and

WHEREAS, Coach Hageman began his career in elementary physical education in 1969 at Catlin Grade School; he started coaching high school football in 1970 at Catlin High School; in 2002, he retired from teaching but continued to coach football; his career highlights began with the 1976 Wolverine Machine in which Catlin High School appeared in the playoffs for five consecutive years and won 33 consecutive East Central Conference games; over the last 50 years, his teams have participated in 29 Illinois High School Association state playoffs; and

WHEREAS, Coach Hageman was inducted into the Illinois High School Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2007; and

WHEREAS, Coach Hageman married his wife, Donna, in 1975; he enjoys spending time with his three children, Angela, Joe, and Doug and his seven grandchildren, Evan, Payton, Jordan, Jacey, Hayden, Robbie, and Ryne; and

WHEREAS, Coach Hageman has only missed one practice in the last 50 years and has positively impacted the lives of countless students; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Dan Alan Hageman on his retirement after 50 years of coaching, and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Coach Hageman as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
