HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Stokovich Family on 70
4years of providing specialized care for older adults; and
 
5    WHEREAS, In 1949, Slavko and Dorothy Stokovich originally
6started with an assisted living community in Lake Villa; in
71977, they built Libertyville Manor on Peterson Road in
8Libertyville; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Brothers John and Milan Stokovich are committed to
10continuing the family tradition of providing care with respect
11and dignity, started by their late parents and their late
12brother Nick; the same "family caring for family" care
13continues with a dedicated staff, many of whom have been
14providing services for residents and their families for
15decades; the facility provides senior day care, respite stays,
16independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled
17care being offered 24 hours per day and 7 days per week; and
 
18    WHEREAS, The Young At Heart Preschool and Day Care was
19opened in 1989 and continues to offer programming and care for
20six week olds through age six; intergenerational programming
21and activities can be seen regularly in the interaction between
22the children from Young At Heart and the "Grandmas and

1Grandpas" in the senior units; and
 
2    WHEREAS, John and Milan Stokovich also continue the
3tradition of support for the community; they host everything
4from a 16-year-old's family birthday party to meetings,
5programs, and events for the Green Oaks, Libertyville,
6Mundelein, Vernon Hills (GLMV) Chamber of Commerce, religious,
7civic organizations, officiating groups, and businesses,
8offering the beautiful Atrium-Great Room at no charge as well
9as the vast trails on the grounds; fundraising walks and
10educational programs are also conducted on the campus;
11therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
13HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
14we congratulate the Stokovich Family on 70 years of providing
15specialized care for older adults, and we wish them many more
16wonderful years; and be it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the Stokovich Family as a symbol of our respect
19and esteem.
