HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on the occasion of her retirement as Niles Township Supervisor; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer was first elected as a trustee for Niles Township in 2005; she served in that position until 2014 when she began her time as township supervisor; at the time of her appointment to township supervisor, she was the longest-serving township trustee on the board; and

WHEREAS, As a board member, Marilyn Glazer supervised the Niles Township food pantry and instituted additional programs to help the underprivileged in Niles Township; some of those programs included senior legal services, immigration services, LIHEAP, arranging regular visits from U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky's office to help with social security problems, and collecting school supplies for local children who could not afford them; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer is a native of Chicago and has been a resident of Skokie for over 40 years; she has enjoyed a long and successful career as a realtor and real estate teacher; she owns her own real estate brokerage company, Marilyn D. Glazer, REALTOR and is president of a real estate education company she founded, Glazer Enterprises; she has also served on the Skokie Zoning Board of Appeals and as director of the Skokie Caucus Party; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer served as president of the North Shore Board of REALTORS in 1985 and as past president of the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; among her many awards are 1986 REALTOR of the Year from the North Shore Board of REALTORS, 1999 REALTOR of the Year from the Illinois Association of REALTORS, 1997 Educator of the Year from the National Association of REALTORS, and 1998 Educator of the Year from the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer enjoys traveling, especially to Florida during the cold season, with her twin sister; she remains active in her synagogue, B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim in Deerfield, and the Women's Council of Realtors; she also remains involved with the Illinois Realtors and the North Shore Realtors committees; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer's retirement plans include continuing her work in the real estate industry and traveling more with her sister; she plans to take more Jewish study courses at her synagogue and spend time enjoying her book club, playing Mahjong, and learning Canasta; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on her retirement as Niles Township Supervisor, and we wish her the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Marilyn Glazer as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
