HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on the
4occasion of her retirement as Niles Township Supervisor; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer was first elected as a trustee for
6Niles Township in 2005; she served in that position until 2014
7when she began her time as township supervisor; at the time of
8her appointment to township supervisor, she was the
9longest-serving township trustee on the board; and
 
10    WHEREAS, As a board member, Marilyn Glazer supervised the
11Niles Township food pantry and instituted additional programs
12to help the underprivileged in Niles Township; some of those
13programs included senior legal services, immigration services,
14LIHEAP, arranging regular visits from U.S. Rep. Jan
15Schakowsky's office to help with social security problems, and
16collecting school supplies for local children who could not
17afford them; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer is a native of Chicago and has been
19a resident of Skokie for over 40 years; she has enjoyed a long
20and successful career as a realtor and real estate teacher; she
21owns her own real estate brokerage company, Marilyn D. Glazer,
22REALTOR and is president of a real estate education company she

1founded, Glazer Enterprises; she has also served on the Skokie
2Zoning Board of Appeals and as director of the Skokie Caucus
3Party; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer served as president of the North
5Shore Board of REALTORS in 1985 and as past president of the
6Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; among her many
7awards are 1986 REALTOR of the Year from the North Shore Board
8of REALTORS, 1999 REALTOR of the Year from the Illinois
9Association of REALTORS, 1997 Educator of the Year from the
10National Association of REALTORS, and 1998 Educator of the Year
11from the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer enjoys traveling, especially to
13Florida during the cold season, with her twin sister; she
14remains active in her synagogue, B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim in
15Deerfield, and the Women's Council of Realtors; she also
16remains involved with the Illinois Realtors and the North Shore
17Realtors committees; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Marilyn Glazer's retirement plans include
19continuing her work in the real estate industry and traveling
20more with her sister; she plans to take more Jewish study
21courses at her synagogue and spend time enjoying her book club,
22playing Mahjong, and learning Canasta; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
2HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3we congratulate Marilyn D. Glazer on her retirement as Niles
4Township Supervisor, and we wish her the best in all her future
5endeavors; and be it further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to Marilyn Glazer as a symbol of our respect and
8esteem.
