HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Jodi Lancaster on the occasion of her winning second-place in the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools program and for her dedication to and love for her students; and

WHEREAS, Jodi Lancaster is a welding teacher at the Livingston Area Career Center at Pontiac Township High School; and

WHEREAS, Jodi Lancaster began her career as a hair dresser before training to become a welder; she worked in industry for several years before receiving specialized education to become a welding teacher; and

WHEREAS, Jodi Lancaster is recognized by her colleagues and students as a dedicated teacher who regularly goes above and beyond for her students; she often opens the student welding shop on weekends, so students can practice and develop their skills; she also works with community partners and arranges for students to take part in skills competitions; and

WHEREAS, Jodi Lancaster's accomplishment has secured $50,000 for the career center; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Jodi Lancaster on earning second place in the Harbor Freight Tools for School program and commend her dedication to her students; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Jodi Lancaster as a token of our esteem and respect.
