HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Milford-Cissna Park 8-man football team, the Bearcats, on winning the inaugural Illinois 8-Man Football Association State Championship; and

WHEREAS, On November 9, 2018, the Bearcats defeated the Green Giants of Alden-Hebron 66 to 14 to capture the state title at April Zorn Memorial Stadium on the campus of Monmouth College; and

WHEREAS, The Bearcats put on a defensive show during the game, forcing three turnovers and holding the Green Giants to 104 yards of total offense; this was paired with 400 yards of offense on the ground and 107 yards in the air for the Bearcats; and

WHEREAS, The Bearcats are coached by Head Coach Clint Schwartz and Assistant Coaches Sid Allen and Nathan Giacchino; the Athletic Trainer is Jessi Schwartz; and

WHEREAS, The Bearcats are Cam Garrison, Jared Schunke, Kennedy Kunsch, Nick Allen, Avinash Gu, Chasine Walwer, Trey Totheroh, Alex Barney, Kadin Randalls, Nick Warren, Penn Stoller, Jarid Woodby, Ashton Sparks, Nick McKinley, Dragon Miljkovic, Angel Salinas, Raven Satkoski, Ryan King, Jacob Nash, Micah Sheridan, Zane Trumann, Rudy King, Tanner Garrison, and Jordan Raymer; and

WHEREAS, The Bearcats were supported throughout the season by cheerleaders, Emma Morts, Jakai Martin, Lexie Mathews, Hayley Sexton, Emma Hansen, Kinley Bruens, Jessica Hines, Bailee Fanning, Hannah Osborn, Allyssa Mullen, Adrianna Chase, Kylie Maples, Jordan Lamb, and coach, Brianna Sechriest; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Bearcats of Milford-Cissna Park on winning the inaugural Illinois 8-Man Football Association State Championship, and we admire and respect their effort, tenacity, and drive even in the face of adversity; and be it further

RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be presented to the Bearcats players and coaches as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
