HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate the Mt. Carmel High School football team, the Caravan, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class 7A State Championship; and

WHEREAS, The Caravan compiled a perfect 14 and 0 record on the road to their 13th championship, their first since 2013; and

WHEREAS, The Caravan, led by Head Coach Jordan Lynch, dominated the playoffs and defeated Nazareth Academy 37 to 13 on November 30 at Northern Illinois University's Huskie Stadium in DeKalb to win their latest championship; and

WHEREAS, The Caravan's path to victory relied on a solid, old-fashioned offense that moved the ball on the ground but could throw when necessary, along with a stingy defense that would bend but rarely broke; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the Mt. Carmel High School football team, the Caravan, on winning the 2019 Illinois High School Association Class 7A State Championship, and we wish them many more successful seasons; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Caravan coaches and players as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
