HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Rudolph
4"Rudy" Booth of Peoria, who passed away on July 20, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was born in Blue Mountain,
6Mississippi to Wilbo and Junie Bell (Rutherford) Booth on
7December 1, 1943; he settled in Peoria as a young adult; he
8married Yvonne Stenson, and they celebrated 50 years of
9marriage on November 17, 2019; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth worked at Caterpillar for over 35
11years; after retirement, he worked in the hospitality industry,
12last working at the Embassy Suites and the Visitors Bureau; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was a member of St. Paul Baptist
14Church, where he served as head usher and with the van ministry
15and men's group; he never met a stranger and had the gift of
16hospitality, always greeting folks with a huge smile and hug;
17he enjoyed Manual High School Basketball and was a member of
18various bowling leagues; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth was preceded in death by his
20parents; his twin sister, Ruchelle Booth Hill; his brother,
21James Booth; and his grandson, Derrick "DJ" Booth Jr.; and

1    WHEREAS, Rudolph Booth is survived by his wife, Yvonne; his
2children, David (Melissa) Booth, Derrick (Jehan) Booth, Daniel
3(Ashley) Booth, Devon (Tony) Booth, and Alicia (Richard) Posey;
4his grandchildren, Mariah, Sydney, Brandon, Chancellor,
5Jianna, Jaxon, DeLaney, and Aden; and his beloved fur buddy,
6Koby; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Rudolph "Rudy" Booth and extend our
10sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
11and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Rudolph Booth as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
