SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
25 ILCS 170/11.4 new

    Amends the Lobbyist Registration Act. Provides that on and after January 1, 2020, a person required to be registered under the Act may not make any expenditures from a candidate political committee established on his or her behalf for the period of time he or she is registered as a lobbyist and for 2 years after the expiration of his or her registration under the Act. Defines "candidate political committee".

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Lobbyist Registration Act is amended by
5adding Section 11.4 as follows:
 
6    (25 ILCS 170/11.4 new)
7    Sec. 11.4. Use of campaign funds for lobbying purposes.
8Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, on and after
9January 1, 2020, a person required to be registered under this
10Act may not make any expenditures from a candidate political
11committee established on his or her behalf for the period of
12time he or she is registered as a lobbyist and for 2 years
13after the expiration of his or her registration under this Act.
14For the purposes of this Section, "candidate political
15committee" shall have the meaning ascribed to it in Section
169-1.8 of the Election Code.
