SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Perry C. "Pepper" Gellerstedt Jr. of
4Moline, who passed away on February 16, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Perry Gellerstedt was born to Perry C. "Pep" and
6Marlena (Sill) Gellerstedt Sr. in Moline on January 22, 1957;
7he attended Moline High School and then proudly served his
8country in the United States Marine Corps; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Perry Gellerstedt was employed at the Rock Island
10Arsenal for over 30 years; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Perry Gellerstedt had a charismatic personality
12and a remarkable ability to make friends quickly; he enjoyed
13being at the dirt track, watching movies, car shows, and NASCAR
14and loved watching his son, Peppy, race cars; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Perry Gellerstedt was preceded in death by his
16parents, Perry C. "Pep" and Marlena (Sill) Gellerstedt Sr.; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Perry Gellerstedt is survived by his children,
18Danell (Drew) Allen, Perry C. "Peppy" Gellerstedt III, and
19Sabrina Gellerstedt; his grandchildren, Joey (Chad), Austin,
20Katelynn (André), Emma (Leslie), Hannah (Bobby), Kayden, and

1Sheylynn; his sisters, Suzan (Jeff) Bell and Jane Keeley; his
2several nieces and nephews; his dear friends, Susan McAfee,
3Phil, and Britt and Danny Clayton; his many friends from the
4Cordova Dragway; and his faithful companion, Precious;
5therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Perry C. "Pepper" Gellerstedt Jr. and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Perry Gellerstedt as an expression
13of our deepest sympathy.
