SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Ronald D. Blad of Moline, who passed away
4on March 6, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ronald Blad was born in Moline to Robert and
6Margaret (DeDoncker) Blad on May 4, 1937; he served in the U.S.
7Army from 1955 to 1957; he married Judy Possin on August 31,
81963; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Ronald Blad was employed by John Deere Plow
10Planter Works and then the John Deere Foundry, retiring when it
11closed in 1993; he then became a self-employed landscaper and
12snowplow driver in the Quad-City area; he was a member of the
13local UAW; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Ronald Blad was known as a real handyman who could
15fix anything; he enjoyed doing yard work; he especially loved
16the coffee at McDonald's and having coffee and donuts at Dunkin
17Donuts; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ronald Blad is survived by his wife, Judy (Possin)
19Blad; his sons, Kent (Veronica) Blad and Brian (Christine)
20Blad; his sister, Margaret (Johnny) Ruiz; his brother, Hjalmer
21Blad; his grandchildren, Stephanie Farrow, Tiffany (Chris)

1Foley, Nathan Schmalenbach, Evan Blad, and Vaughn Blad; his
2great-grandchildren, Terrance Russell Jr., Keyonte Farrow,
3Evan Foley, Kashe Farrow, Desire Farrow, Noah Foley, and Eli
4Foley; and his numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and
5great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Ronald D. Blad and extend our sincere condolences to his
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ronald Blad as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
