SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph James Cannon of Bloomington, who passed away on April 16, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Cannon was born in Charleston, Missouri to Houston B. and Willie Mae Lewis Cannon on January 14, 1943; he served in the U.S. Army; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Cannon was known as an excellent cook, singer, and artist; he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Cannon was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Joey Cannon; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Cannon is survived by his children, Renee Oliver, Sonia Cannon, Shea Cannon, and Tracy Curlee; his siblings, Carl Cannon, Doris Woods, and Charles Harris; and his many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph James Cannon and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Cannon as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
