SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert O. Marsh of Barclay, who passed away on March 28, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Robert Marsh was born in Springfield to Edward and Elizabeth Lyons Marsh on July 29, 1942; he married Judy Miller on October 19, 1961; he served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1966 and earned the National Defense Service Medal; and

WHEREAS, After his years of service, Robert Marsh worked as a machinist at Fiat-Allis and as a machine repair specialist at Bunn-O-Matic for 15 years; and

WHEREAS, Robert Marsh was a lifelong resident in and around the Riverton area; he was a member of the American Legion and Country Gamblers Dance Club; he enjoyed watching NASCAR, mowing the grass, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Robert Marsh was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters, Francis Bliss and Charlene Kresse; and

WHEREAS, Robert Marsh is survived by his wife, Judy; his daughters, Edwina (John) Nally, Shelly (Jeff) Kinner, and Shawn (Bob) Ryan; his son, Robert (Joni) Marsh; his 17 grandchildren; his nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Barbara (Harvey) Lomelino; his several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his beloved cat, Tinker Bell; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert O. Marsh and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robert Marsh as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
