SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Sgt. Jason Boesdorfer of Chatham, who
4passed away on May 8, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer was born in Springfield to Mark
6Boesdorfer and Ellen Robertson on December 9, 1975; he
7graduated from Williamsville High School in 1994 and earned his
8bachelor's degree in law enforcement and criminal justice
9administration from Western Illinois University; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer served as a police officer with
11the Decatur Police Department until he joined the Sangamon
12County Sheriff's Department in 2004, where he was a sergeant;
13he was the commander of the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office
14Tactical Negotiations Team; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer coached football in Pleasant
16Plains; he enjoyed boating, football, and golf; he was an avid
17fan of Notre Dame and Georgia football; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer was preceded in death by his
19grandfathers, LaVerne Boesdorfer and Franklyn Robertson, and
20his grandmother, Ruth Robertson; and

1    WHEREAS, Sgt. Boesdorfer is survived by his children,
2Abbie, Hayden, and Alexandria "Lu" Boesdorfer; his wife,
3Stephanie Boesdorfer; his mother, Ellen Robertson; his father,
4Mark Boesdorfer; his brothers, Walter (Trish) Hauck, Edward
5Hauck, Michael (Kim) Hauck, and Kipp (Fatima) Boesdorfer; and
6his grandmother, Gloria; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Sgt. Jason Boesdorfer and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Sgt. Boesdorfer as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
