SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph John Geraldi, who passed away on June 13, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Geraldi was born in Johnston City to Michael and Eva Geraldi on May 4, 1925; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Geraldi served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and received multiple medals, including the Purple Heart and the Distinguished Flying Cross; he was a member of the 401st Bombardment Group; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Geraldi was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, the VFW, and the American Legion; he was a baseball coach for Northside A.C. and was president of the Waukegan travel teams; he also belonged to International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 150 for 64 years; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Geraldi was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian "Dolly" Geraldi; and

WHEREAS, Joseph Geraldi is survived by his children, Michael (Kate) Geraldi, Vita Geraldi, and Rosanne Graham; his grandchildren, Joseph, Anthony, Tina, Michael, Maggie, Andrea, Samuel, and Katherine; 13 great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law, Connie McCormick; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph John Geraldi and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joseph Geraldi as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
