SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Edward "Ed" R. Sikich III of Waukegan,
4who passed away on June 30, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ed Sikich was born to Peter and Mary Sikich in
6Waukegan on April 20, 1962; he graduated from Waukegan West
7High School in 1981; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Shortly after high school graduation, Ed Sikich
9started working for Peter Baker and Son Company; he retired in
102017 after 34 dedicated years of service; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ed Sikich was a devoted Chicago Bears and Chicago
12Cubs fan; he enjoyed traveling, spending time with his family,
13and riding his Harley; he had an amazing heart of gold and was
14a devoted family man who kept many family traditions going; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ed Sikich was preceded in death by his father,
16Peter Sikich Jr.; his mother, Mary Sikich; his sister, Barbara
17Sikich; and his brother, Peter Sikich III; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ed Sikich is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie
19Sikich; his son, Westley (Cristina) Sikich; his daughter,
20Tifany (Doug) Weithoner; his stepdaughters, Karli Hamlet and

1Hannah Hamlet (Kyle Hadle); his stepson, Matt Hamlet; his
2grandchildren, Ariana, Rosalie, Bryan, Brenden, and Hailey;
3his sisters, Patricia Sikich, Millie (Chris) Biedron, and
4Beverly (Daniel) Turkowski; his nieces and nephews, Nichole
5(Ben) Petersen, Peter (Katy) Beck, Jonathan (Jessica)
6Turkowski, Jimmy Turkowski, and Kevin Sworthout; his many
7great-nieces and great-nephews; his father-in-law and
8mother-in-law, Tom and Kathleen Faust; his sister-in-law,
9Julie Sikich; his brother-in-law, Bryan Faust; his dear friend
10and the mother of his children, Joan Gibbs; and his treasured
11canine companions, Roscoe and Stoop; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Edward "Ed" R. Sikich III and extend our sincere condolences to
15his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Ed Sikich as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
