SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Warren Louis Kammerer Jr. of St. Charles,
4who passed away on July 20, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer was born to Warren Louis Kammerer
6Sr. and Lois Amelia (Campbell) Kammerer in Pecatonica on
7November 6, 1925; he attended the University of Illinois, where
8he studied business administration; college was interrupted
9when he enlisted in the Army toward the end of WWII; he was
10chosen for the O.S.S. Counter Intelligence Corps, a precursor
11to the C.I.A, and was stationed in occupied Osaka, Japan; after
12the war, he completed his degree in 1951; he married his wife
13Virginia in 1970; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer started his lifelong career at
15Firestone in 1951; he started in Sales and worked his way up to
16managing his own store in St. Charles for over 30 years; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer held positions on many civic and
18governmental committees, including being a delegate for the
191992 Republican National Convention; he was honored to be the
20first elected Chairman of the Kane County Board from 1990 to
211996, where he was instrumental in significant infrastructure
22and financial reforms; and

1    WHEREAS, A charter member of Kiwanis International, Warren
2Kammerer was also a member of the VFW, Moose International, the
3National Exchange Club, the Playmakers community theater
4group, and various church committees; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer loved photography, dancing,
6watching Illini and Packer football, cars, and car shows;
7family was everything to him; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer was preceded in death by his
9parents; his siblings, Katherine (Donald) Bradley, Marjorie
10(Samuel) Castree, James (Joan) Kammerer, and Wayne Kammerer;
11and his grandson, Eric Kammerer; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Warren Kammerer is survived by his wife; his
13children, Ann Kammerer, Jill (David) Kammerer, Warren Kammerer
14III, Stephen Kammerer, Holly (Tom) Regelbrugge, Lauren
15(William) Pedersen, Jinny Gilgan, and Katy (Ryan) Carlson; his
16grandchildren, Lana Kammerer and Harry and Samuel Jaffe; his
17great-grandchildren, Anyssa Green and the soon to be Ethan
18Carlson; and his siblings, Joan (Robert) Lindquist, Nellie
19(Willis) Runne, and Phyllis (Fred) Peterson; therefore, be it
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
21ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of

1Warren Louis Kammerer Jr. and extend our sincere condolences to
2his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
3further
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5presented to the family of Warren Kammerer as an expression of
6our deepest sympathy.
