SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Stanton Joseph "Stan" Bond of Montgomery,
4who passed away on February 13, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Stan Bond was born in Turlock, California to
6Joseph and Norma Bond on July 22, 1949; he earned an
7interdisciplinary degree in advertising, marketing, and public
8relations from Southern Illinois University in 1971; while a
9student, he was on the Dean's List, and he interned for the
10City of Carbondale in the City Manager's Office; he continued
11his education in the master's program at Southern Illinois
12University and received several awards for his work, as well as
13a commendation by Mayor Neil Eckert and the City Council of
14Carbondale; at that time, he also received a citation from
15Illinois Governor Richard B. Ogilvie for his service to
16Carbondale; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Professionally, Stan Bond worked as an Assistant
18Director of Industrial Development and participated in the HUD
19Model Cities Program in Carbondale; he was also a Public
20Information Officer with the City of Carbondale and the Wabash
21Area Office of Economic Opportunity; he was an Account
22Executive with Marstellar Advertising and an Associate
23Creative Director with Ladd/Wells Advertising before moving on

1to become Founder and President of Hamilton and Bond
2Advertising, Inc.; he enjoyed working in this capacity for
3nearly 35 years; in more recent years, he was the Chief Deputy
4Clerk for the Kane County Clerk's Office and the Business
5Process Coordinator for the Kane County Circuit Clerk's Office;
6and
 
7    WHEREAS, Stan Bond's passion for community building led him
8to serve as an elected official in several capacities for more
9than 20 years; while living in Batavia, he served as a Trustee
10for the Batavia Public Library District and as a Precinct
11Committeeman; while living in Montgomery, he served as a
12Precinct Committeeman for Sugar Grove 2, volunteered as a
13Neighborhood Watch Area Leader, was a founding member of the
14Montgomery Foundation, and spent multiple terms as a Village of
15Montgomery Trustee; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Stan Bond valued the community relationships he
17built and the time he spent attending various community
18functions; he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends
19and taking motorcycle rides in the country; he was an avid
20boater and fisherman; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Stan Bond was preceded in death by his parents;
22and

1    WHEREAS, Stan Bond is survived by his wife of 40 years,
2Marion; his daughters, Erin (Jim) Hart, Elizabeth (Chris)
3Abbott, and Sarah (Josh) Paddock; and his grandchildren, Nolan
4and Wyatt Abbott and Max Hart; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Stanton Joseph "Stan" Bond and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Stan Bond as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
