SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of William E. Richey of Moline, who passed away on September 10, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Gene Richey was born to Lloyd and Ruby (Groves) Richey in Manassas, Virginia on November 24, 1932; he was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served during the Korean War; he married Nancy Houzenga in Silver City, New Mexico on August 16, 1954; and

WHEREAS, Gene Richey retired as Director of Engineering at Windsor Park Manor in Carol Stream; and

WHEREAS, Gene Richey enjoyed photography, playing games on the computer, and his cat; and

WHEREAS, Gene Richey was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife; and

WHEREAS, Gene Richey is survived by his children, Laurel Richey, Rebecca (Gary) Vinar, and Randell (Debby) Richey, and his grandchildren, William (Christine) Richey and Jaimie (Thomas) Caudill; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of William E. "Gene" Richey and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gene Richey as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
