SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Cornelius "Connie" O'Neill of Joliet, who passed away on September 1, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was born to Cornelius and Mary (Gleason) O'Neill in Joliet in 1933; he graduated from Joliet Catholic High School in 1950; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill retired from the Teamsters Union, Local 179, and the City of Joliet Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Italian American Cultural Society, and a former member of St. Mary Carmelite in Joliet; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill loved music, dancing, and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill was preceded in death by his son, Connie O'Neill Jr.; his parents; and his brother, Jim Bell; and

WHEREAS, Connie O'Neill is survived by his loving wife, Josephine Juresic; his sister, Mary Ellen Vorhees; and numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Cornelius "Connie" O'Neill and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Connie O'Neill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
