SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Paul S. Erickson of Moline, who passed
4away on November 17, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was born in Moline on February 14,
61932; he was married to Carol De Pooter at St. Mary's Catholic
7Church of Moline on August 25, 1956; he earned his master's
8degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of
9Illinois; he served in the U. S. Navy; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Paul Erickson enjoyed a rewarding career working
11at J. I. Case, E. G. Erickson Engineering Co., Deere & Co., and
12John Deere Harvester Works until his retirement; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was an avid golfer and global
14traveler; he was a member of several clubs in Moline, including
15the Elks, Friends Circle, Svithiod, and the Viking Club; he was
16a life member of SME; he loved visiting and spending vacations
17with his grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was preceded in death by his
19parents, Erick and Florence Erickson, and his sister, Jean
20Johnson; and

1    WHEREAS, Paul Erickson is survived by his wife of 64 years,
2Carol; his sons, Paul E. and Brian (Heather); his daughters,
3Brenda and Yvonne (Brian Murray); and his grandchildren,
4Alexander Erickson, Gunnar Erickson, Evan Erickson, Quinn
5Erickson, Ellis Erickson, Allyse Murray, and Conor Murray;
6therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9Paul S. Erickson and extend our sincere condolences to his
10family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Paul Erickson as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
