SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul S. Erickson of Moline, who passed away on November 17, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was born in Moline on February 14, 1932; he was married to Carol De Pooter at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Moline on August 25, 1956; he earned his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois; he served in the U. S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Paul Erickson enjoyed a rewarding career working at J. I. Case, E. G. Erickson Engineering Co., Deere & Co., and John Deere Harvester Works until his retirement; and

WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was an avid golfer and global traveler; he was a member of several clubs in Moline, including the Elks, Friends Circle, Svithiod, and the Viking Club; he was a life member of SME; he loved visiting and spending vacations with his grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Paul Erickson was preceded in death by his parents, Erick and Florence Erickson, and his sister, Jean Johnson; and

WHEREAS, Paul Erickson is survived by his wife of 64 years, Carol; his sons, Paul E. and Brian (Heather); his daughters, Brenda and Yvonne (Brian Murray); and his grandchildren, Alexander Erickson, Gunnar Erickson, Evan Erickson, Quinn Erickson, Ellis Erickson, Allyse Murray, and Conor Murray; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul S. Erickson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Erickson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
