SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph M. "Joe" Hansen of Moline, who passed away on November 20, 2020; and

WHEREAS, Joe Hansen was born in Quincy to James M. "Whitey" and Catherine "Isabelle" Kirchner Hansen on July 26, 1948; he served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam; he married Jean VanOpdorp-Sandoval in Rock Island County on June 1, 2000; and

WHEREAS, Joe Hansen worked for the Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years; and

WHEREAS, Joe Hansen enjoyed fishing and hunting in his earlier years; and

WHEREAS, Joe Hansen was preceded in death by his father and his brother, James; and

WHEREAS, Joe Hansen is survived by his wife, Jean; his stepchildren, Jacob and Alex Sandoval; his mother, Catherine "Isabelle" Hansen; his siblings, John Hansen, Robert "Bob" Hansen, and Joan Hansen Holgate; and his nephew, Devin (Lisa) Hansen; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Joseph M. "Joe" Hansen and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Joe Hansen as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
