SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Paul Quirk of Shipman, who passed away on March 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Paul Quirk was born in Kemper to John Henry and Mary Josephine (Kirsch) Quirk on July 29, 1932; he married Geneva F. Baker in Shipman on July 21, 1951; and

WHEREAS, Paul Quirk was a laborer who worked out of the Labor Local #338 in Wood River and the Shipman Laborers Local 695, where he served as business agent for many years; and

WHEREAS, Paul Quirk was a member of the Macoupin County Board for over 20 years and served on many committees; he was a member and Past Governor of the Jerseyville Moose, where he received his Pilgrim Degree; he was a 4th Degree Knight with the Jerseyville Knights of Columbus; he enjoyed family and friends and was always eager to share a joke; and

WHEREAS, Paul Quirk was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Maupin and Veronica Waltrip; and his brother, Leo Quirk; and

WHEREAS, Paul Quirk is survived by his wife, Geneva; his daughters, Brenda (Mark) Enright and Nancy (Ben) Stinnett; his sons, Paul (Sharon) Quirk and Rick (Linda) Quirk; his grandchildren, Christy and Chucker Darr, Tiffany and Eric Wagener, Derek and Lindsey Parker, Melissa Parker, Brienna Parker, Jennifer and Jason Baumann, Chris Quirk and Crystal Beasley, Jon Stinnett and Heather Campbell, and Jo-Anna and Like Ivers; his great-grandchildren, Charlie Darr, Alyssa and Ethan Wagener, Tye and Cam Parker, Tyler and Caitlin Baumann, Addyson and Reagan Quirk, Annabelle and Lucy Stinnett, and Geneva Ivers; his brother, Louis (Barb) Quirk; and his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Georgia and Larry Bray, Darlene and Lester Large, Roy Lee Baker, and Dan Baker; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Paul Quirk and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Paul Quirk as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
