SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Jo Ann Kiefer, who passed away on October
411, 2018 at the age of 83; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer was born on January 23, 1935 in
6Monroe, Michigan to Clara Jane Loveridge and William Perry and
7attended Summerfield High School in Petersburg, Michigan; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer worked for many years at the YMCA
9College in Chicago and continued working at Concordia
10University in River Forest; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer was ahead of her time; she was
12active in many women's groups as well as a passionate advocate
13for equal rights for all; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer was a longtime resident of Oak Park,
15and later, a resident of the Lake Barrington Woods Retirement
16Community; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer was preceded in death by her
18parents, Clara Jane Loveridge and William Perry, and her
19sister, Linda Perry; and

1    WHEREAS, Jo Ann Kiefer is survived by her husband of 48
2years, Joseph M. Kiefer; her children, William A. (Judy Curtis)
3Freberg and Helen (David) Wachowiak; her grandchildren, Lana
4Marie Casey, Erica Jo (Scott) Diehl, and Hannah Wachowiak; her
5great-grandchild, Charlotte Diehl; her siblings, David (Eva)
6Perry and Carol Brzuchalski; and numerous nieces, nephews,
7cousins, and friends; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Jo Ann Kiefer and extend our sincere condolences to her family,
11friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Jo Ann Kiefer as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
