SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Emil L. Mesich of Rock Island, who passed away on April 20, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was born in Jezerana, Croatia to Louis and Antonia Holjevac Mesich on September 1, 1922; he served in the United States Army during World War II; he married Evelyn Ewig in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 22, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Emil Mesich worked as the plant equipment designer for International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island; he retired on August 29, 1975 after 33 years of service; and

WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Allouez Council No. 658 Knights of Columbus, Rock Island; and

WHEREAS, Emil Mesich was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; his daughter, Vickie Mesich; and his brother, George Mesich; and

WHEREAS, Emil Mesich is survived by his daughter, Deborah (Michael Ballinger) Brown; his grandchildren, Shawn (Lanie) Brown, Autumn (Dan Leach) Brown, and Eric (Angie) Brown; and his great-grandchildren, Lucas, Lila, and Colin; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Emil L. Mesich and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Emil Mesich as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
