SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Stella Cecylia Dreyer of Waukegan, who passed away on April 6, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dreyer was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Ludwik and Cecylia Orzech; her family later moved to Chicago, where she graduated from St. Paul Commercial High School; she married Charles Dreyer in 1964; they settled in Waukegan, where they raised their family and her pugs, Ferdinand and Isabelle; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dreyer was devoted to her faith and a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan; in retirement, she enjoyed taking long bike rides on the North Shore Path with her husband; she was proud of her family and cherished her close relationship with her grandchildren, frequently cooking meals and spending time with them; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dreyer was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Arleen; her son-in-law, Greg Mitten; and her siblings, Casimira Bronk, Joseph Orzech, Maryann Lewandowski, and Helen Mamola; and her infant sister, Victoria; and

WHEREAS, Stella Dreyer is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles; her children, Charlene (Tom) Temeyer, Marlene Mitten, and Allen (Kristine) Dreyer; her grandchildren, Emily (Justin) Ensor, Erica (Cullen) Mitten, and Madeline Dreyer; and her siblings, Irene (Robert) Lehr and Alois (Brenda) Orzech; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Stella Cecylia Dreyer and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Stella Dreyer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
