SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Grover Gerald "Jerry" Stevens of Rock Island, who passed away on October 7, 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was born in Man, West Virginia to Ernest and Margaret (Brown) Stevens on May 11, 1943; he served in the U.S. Army and married Linda Crawford and Beverly Delles; later, he married Connie Manes on January 27, 1996; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was a self-employed home improvement contractor; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens enjoyed hunting and fishing; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Connie; his ex-wife, Beverly Stevens; and his brother, Joseph Stevens; and

WHEREAS, Jerry Stevens is survived by his daughters, Cheryl Piersall and Kelly (Randy) Bishop; his sons, Charlie Stevens, Robert Manes, Troy (Anna) Manes, and Craig Adams; his grandsons, Shaine (Jennifer) Mier and Bryant Piersall; his granddaughters, Cassidy Piersall, Lanna Manes, and Abigail Manes; and many friends who were like family to him; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Grover Gerald "Jerry" Stevens and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Jerry Stevens as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
