HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Blake E. Roderick on the occasion of his retirement as Executive Director of the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau and the Two Rivers Farm Bureau Foundation in May 2022 after serving members for over 41 years; and

WHEREAS, Beginning in 1981, Blake Roderick served the Sangamon County Farm Bureau, the Pike County Farm Bureau, the Scott County Farm Bureau, and the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau after their merger in 2018; and

WHEREAS, During his career, Blake Roderick was a strong advocate on many issues affecting farm bureau members; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick organized flood fighting efforts on the Illinois and Mississippi rivers and organized several issue campaigns, including private property rights protection, sane wetland regulations, renewable energy ordinances, right to raise livestock, farmland assessment, state and county tax issues, and state and federal regulations; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick actively served in many local, state, and national organizations; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick served as chairman of the Illini Community Hospital System during its successful transition to become part of the Blessing Health System; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick served on the executive committee of the National Waterways Conference; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick is currently the vice-chairman of the Mid-America Port Commission, which serves Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Blake Roderick is also a commissioner of the Mid-America Intermodal Authority Port District; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Blake E. Roderick on the occasion of his retirement as Executive Director of the Pike-Scott Farm Bureau and the Two Rivers Farm Bureau Foundation, thank him for his many years of service, and wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Blake Roderick as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
