SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Clarence "Butch" Erickson of Reynolds, who passed away on May 9, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was born to Edd and Mildred (Bingman) Erickson in Rock Island on February 11, 1930; he served in the U.S. Army; he married Donna J. Doonan at St. John's Church in Preemption on March 3, 1955; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was previously employed as a petroleum salesman for MER-ROC F.S., Inc.; after more than 30 years of service, he retired in 1992; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was a member of Reynolds American Legion Post #1166 for over 50 years; he also served as a trustee for the Reynolds Fire Department; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was a true handyman and was lovingly known as the "fix it guy" who enjoyed helping his family with all types of chores; he loved being outdoors, playing golf, and drinking coffee with his friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ralph, Delbert, Clyde, and William Erickson; and

WHEREAS, Butch Erickson is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Jim (Jean) Erickson and JoAnn Erickson; his grandchildren, Luke (Kathleen) Erickson, Seth (Meredith) Erickson, Jake (Carrie) Erickson, Mathew (Patricia) McGraw, Chelsea (Jason) Schlueter, Allie (Travis) Fleming, and Maria McGraw; and his 14 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Clarence "Butch" Erickson and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Butch Erickson as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
