SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert Elliott "Robbie" Cook of Springfield, who passed away on October 1, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook was born in Alton to Bob and Ellen Cook on August 16, 1968; he graduated from Glenwood High School in 1986; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook worked for various agencies of the State of Illinois, including the EPA, the Department of Health & Human Services, the Department of Revenue, and the Department of Economic Opportunity; during the evening, he worked as DJ Razor on WQLZ; he also DJ'd a Sunday night radio show that highlighted Central Illinois rock bands; he was always on the cutting edge in music, and some of his favorite bands included, Metallica, Nirvana, and the Smashing Pumpkins, bands he enjoyed before they become popular; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook's other jobs included photographing models and weddings and promoting concerts and other events; he was very artistic and became a self-taught website developer for WQLZ, WTAX, various modeling agencies, and other companies; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook loved music and enjoyed attending concerts, researching rock music bands and its members, riding his motorcycle, exploring YouTube for educational material, reading, watching AEW wrestling, and taking care of his rose garden; he had a boundless imagination, an adventurous spirit, and a deep enjoyment for life and the people he met along his way; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook was preceded in death his grandparents, Henry and Nora Cook, Maxine Elliot Tucker, and Jesse Willard Tucker; his uncles, Bill (Peggy), Bud, Bennie, and Barney; and his aunts, Bonnie and Patty Jo; and

WHEREAS, Robbie Cook is survived by his parents; his brother, Thomas (Tanja) Lagisse; his niece, Emma; his uncles, Bertis (Becky) Cook and Ronnie Malcom; his aunts, Mary (Ed) Pomatto, Cindy (Kevin) Carman, and Dottie Cook; his great-aunt, Lilly Pauline Pennell; and his cousins, Sean, Billie Jo, Tara, Penny, Nickie, April, Jennifer, Courtney, Andrew, Nicholas, and Nathan; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert Elliott "Robbie" Cook and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Robbie Cook as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
