SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Elizabeth Francis "Betty" Pickerill of Worden, who passed away on March 2, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was born in Worden to Allen A. Schneider and Gertrude (Straub) Schneider on December 28, 1946; she graduated from Worden High School; she married Dale Pickerill on December 31, 1980; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill worked as the manager of the Payroll Department and Finance Department for Webster University; she loved her job and her fellow employees; she took early retirement to be with her late husband, who was suffering from cancer; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was a former member of St. Barbara's Church in Batchtown and a current member of the Worden Christian Church; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling; she helped her husband work on the family history of the Pickerill and Schneider families; beside her husband, she enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee in the late afternoon and talking about anything and everything, especially their children and grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and best friend, Dale Henry Pickerill; and her brothers; Allen Schneider and John Schneider; and

WHEREAS, Betty Pickerill is survived by her daughter, Kerra Leigh Deaton; her son, Preston Richard (Amy Elizabeth) Hall; her stepchildren, Robert Scott (Stephanie) Pickerill, Patrick Wade Pickerill (Bruno Figueroa), Leslie Ann Pomatto, and Kerri Jean Niehaus; her grandchildren, Zackory Alexander Deaton, Alaina Elizabeth Hall, Savannah Dale Hall, Braden Dale Niehaus, Bryce Arthur Niehaus, Ashley Nichole Pomatto, Amanda Jo Pomatto, Audrey Alexandra Pickerill, and Lauren Elizabeth Bailey; and her sisters, Rosemarie (William) Pickerill, Violet Lyerla, Shirley (Robert) Prosser, and Gloria (John) Paolino; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Elizabeth Francis "Betty" Pickerill and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Betty Pickerill as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
