HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to recognize Beverly Sussman for her 29 years of dedicated service to the Village of Buffalo Grove, contributing significantly to the growth and development of the community; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Sussman has held various roles within the Village of Buffalo Grove, including 15 years as a member of the Rick Kahen Commission for Residents with Disabilities, six years as a village trustee, and eight years as village president; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Sussman spent 25 years as a sixth grade science teacher with Kildeer Countryside Consolidated School District #96, earning the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching in 1995; she also served as an adjunct professor at National Louis University, inspiring and educating countless students; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Sussman has consistently encouraged children to be involved in their community, regularly speaking to schools and youth organizations about local government and the importance of civic engagement; and

WHEREAS, Throughout her tenure as village president, Beverly Sussman has been instrumental in fostering a business-friendly environment, attracting new businesses and spurring economic development; and

WHEREAS, Under Beverly Sussman's leadership, the Village of Buffalo Grove has successfully undertaken numerous projects, including the Infrastructure Modernization Program, the redevelopment of the Town Center into The Clove, the opening of Woodman's grocery store, and the expansion of Northwest Community Healthcare facilities; and

WHEREAS, Beverly Sussman has been a strong advocate for transparent communication and community engagement, with the Village of Buffalo Grove now offering multiple avenues for residents to stay informed and engaged with local government; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we recognize and express our gratitude to Beverly Sussman for her outstanding service and dedication to the Village of Buffalo Grove and its residents, and we extend our best wishes for her future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Beverly Sussman as an expression of our esteem and respect.
