SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Robert "Bob" Gardner of Cuba, who passed away on June 14, 2024; and

WHEREAS, Bob Gardner was born to John and Jessie (Gilmore) Gardner in Canton on April 30, 1945; he married Brenda Selph in Lewistown on November 21, 1963; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps; and

WHEREAS, Bob Gardner worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company from 1967 to 2000; and

WHEREAS, Bob Gardner was a member of the Cuba American Legion; and

WHEREAS, Bob Gardner had a passion for vintage cars and enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels cars; and

WHEREAS, Bob Gardner is survived by his wife of 60 years, Brenda; his children, Penny (Adam) Gerard, Bob (Mary) Gardner Jr., and Carrie (Tim) Archdale; his grandchildren, Elizabeth (Chris) Monckton, Sarah (David) Hertzner, Kacie (Scott) Shaeffer, Kelsey (Brandon) Kinney, Nick (Christy) Lafary, Dylan Gardner, and Daniel (Kennedy) Gardner; 14 great-grandchildren; and his brothers, Harold Gardner and Kenny Gardner; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Robert "Bob" Gardner and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bob Gardner as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
