SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
745 ILCS 49/5

    Amends the Good Samaritan Act. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning immunity from civil liability for giving or receiving and acting on emergency telephone instructions.

1    AN ACT concerning civil law.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Good Samaritan Act is amended by changing
5Section 5 as follows:
 
6    (745 ILCS 49/5)
7    Sec. 5. Emergency telephone instructions; exemption from
8civil liability. No person who gives emergency instructions
9through a system established under the the Emergency Telephone
10System Act to persons rendering services in an emergency at
11another location, nor any person following the instructions in
12rendering the services, shall be liable for any civil damages
13as a result of issuing or following the instructions, unless
14issuing or following the instructions constitutes willful or
15wanton misconduct.
