SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 
20 ILCS 405/405-123 new

    Amends the Department of Central Management Services Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois. Provides that the Department of Central Management Services shall develop and implement plans to increase the number of individuals employed by State government who are in arrears on their child support payments. Provides that the Department shall prepare and revise annually an employment plan for individuals in arrears on child support payments, and shall do so in consultation with individuals and organizations informed on this subject. Provides reporting requirements concerning the employment plan for individuals in arrears on child support payments. Effective immediately.

1    AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Department of Central Management Services
5Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by
6adding Section 405-123 as follows:
 
7    (20 ILCS 405/405-123 new)
8    Sec. 405-123. Employees with child support payments. The
9Department shall develop and implement plans to increase the
10number of individuals employed by State government who are in
11arrears on their child support payments. The Department shall
12prepare and revise annually an employment plan for individuals
13in arrears on child support payments, and shall do so in
14consultation with individuals and organizations informed on
15this subject. By October 1 of each year, all State agencies
16shall submit data to the Department showing how many
17individuals in arrears on child support payments are employed
18by each State agency at that time. The Department shall submit
19a report to the General Assembly by December 1 of each year
20which includes submitted State agency data, a comparison of
21that data to prior years' data, if available, and details on
22each State agency's activities in implementing the employment
23plan for individuals in arrears on child support payments.

1    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
2becoming law.
