1    AN ACT concerning business.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding
5Section 8-201.4 as follows:
 
6    (220 ILCS 5/8-201.4 new)
7    Sec. 8-201.4. Prohibition on use of utility name or logo
8by non-utility entity. No non-utility individual, business, or
9entity shall use a public utility name or logo, in whole or in
10part, in any manner to market, solicit, sell, or bill for a
11home (i) insurance, (ii) maintenance, or (iii) warranty
12product. This prohibition does not apply to activities
13permitted to implement a program or plan approved by the
14Commission pursuant to an order entered under this Act. This
15prohibition does not apply to the partial use by a non-utility
16entity of a logo belonging to an electric utility that serves
17fewer than 200,000 customers in this State.
