HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate our colleague, Representative Seth Lewis, on his distinguished service to the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis was elected to serve the 45th House District, which includes the communities of Addison, Bartlett, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Hanover Park, Itasca, Roselle, West Chicago, and Wood Dale in DuPage and Cook Counties; and

WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis' dedication to public service and commitment to serving the people of Illinois is unmatched; as a state legislator, he demonstrated his values through the votes he cast to support business and a thriving economy, the State's fiscal health, healthy environmental policy, and greater education for our youngest residents; and

WHEREAS, As an advocate for businesses across Illinois, Rep. Lewis' votes in the House demonstrated his support for the economy, job creators, and overall efforts to boost the State's business climate; and

WHEREAS, In his own legislative district, Rep. Lewis tirelessly visited businesses to personally express his support for their endeavors and their role as part of the larger community; and

WHEREAS, As a business owner himself, Rep. Lewis was able to contribute a valuable perspective to the changes sought through legislation to improve Illinois' business climate and allow job creators to thrive; and

WHEREAS, Believing that a balanced budget is best, Rep. Lewis continued to back viable solutions to claw back unfunded liabilities and right the State's fiscal ship; and

WHEREAS, As an advocate for education, Rep. Lewis fiercely supported policies to bolster local control in school districts, provide support for teachers across the state, and work to ensure every child had access to the best opportunities possible; and

WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis was at the forefront of environmental policies that would prepare the State for success in the future, and that work will continue to ensure Illinois is in the best position for generations to come; and

WHEREAS, Rep. Lewis will be a great asset as he moves forward in his career to the Senate; he will continue to represent the people of Illinois on a larger scale and be their voice in Springfield; and

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish to thank Rep. Seth Lewis for his years of dedicated service as 45th District State Representative and wish him the best in his future endeavors; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Rep. Lewis as an expression of our esteem and respect.
