HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Joseph
4C. "Joe" O'Donnell of Macomb, who passed away on March 17,
52021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi
7to Robert and Alice (Feeney) O'Donnell on December 29, 1951;
8he grew up in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Catholic High
9School in 1970 and the University of Notre Dame in 1974; he
10married Rita J. O'Donnell on November 9, 1974 and later
11graduated from John Marshall Law School; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell practiced law in Macomb for decades
13and served as the attorney for the Macomb Park District; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was a member of St. Paul's Church
15and the McDonough County Bar Association; he had a wealth of
16friendships, maintaining many from his childhood and teenage
17years; he had a calm and thoughtful nature, and his humor was
18clever and quick; he enjoyed a good hamburger and vintage
19cars; he was a kind and generous man; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell was preceded in death by his
21mother, Alice; his brother, John Patrick O'Donnell; his

1sister, Margaret O'Donnell; and his infant brother, Robert
2Michael O'Donnell; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Joe O'Donnell is survived by his wife, Rita; his
4father, Robert E. O'Donnell; his brother, Jim O'Donnell; his
5sisters, Anne (Pete) Sticklen and Mary (D.J.) Balzer; and
6numerous nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we mourn the passing of Joseph C. "Joe" O'Donnell and extend
10our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who
11knew and loved him; and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Joe O'Donnell as an expression of
14our deepest sympathy.
