HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, Robert Wunderlich has served on the Joliet Junior
3College Board of Trustees for 44 years, from 1977 to 2021; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Wunderlich has been a continuous advocate
5for Joliet Junior College and the Illinois community college
6system through his leadership and service; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Robert Wunderlich led efforts to transform
8facilities across the college by providing expertise,
9planning, and support, particularly for the 2008-2013 Master
10Plan and by spending 20 years chairing the board's Buildings
11and Grounds Committee; and
 
12    WHEREAS, The 2008-2013 Master Plan constructed seven new
13buildings and renovations, including the Greenhouse, the
14Campus Center, the Health Professions Center, the Natural
15Sciences renovation, the Automotive Tech renovation, the
16Facility Services Building, and the City Center Campus; this
17period of time represents the most sweeping physical changes
18to the college in its history; and
 
19    WHEREAS, In 2018, Robert Wunderlich was recognized for his
20commitment to Joliet Junior College with the Susan H. Wood
21Award from the Joliet Junior College Foundation; and

1    WHEREAS, Robert Wunderlich is one of only six trustees in
2Illinois community college history who have served more than
340 years on their local community college board; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Robert Wunderlich has demonstrated a strong and
5unwavering commitment to his community and higher education in
6the State of Illinois; therefore, be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
8HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
9we commend Robert Wunderlich for his over four decades of
10service on the Joliet Junior College Board of Trustees; and be
11it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to Robert Wunderlich as a symbol of our esteem and
14respect..
