HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
4Christopher Edward Mau of Elgin, who passed away on April 17,
52021; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Christopher Mau was born in Evanston to R.
7Charles Mau and Maren J. Olson on September 20, 1966; he
8graduated from Deerfield High School and earned a football
9scholarship to Drake University; he married Kathleen Kenny in
102007; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Christopher Mau and his wife owned and operated
12the Blue Box Cafe in Elgin, named for their love of the British
13television show Doctor Who and the blue Tardis time machine in
14which the title character travels; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Christopher Mau enjoyed sports and was a
16"foodie"; he was into all things Doctor Who and the nerd
17culture; he dabbled in theater and podcasting; he was hard
18working, generous, and community minded and will be remembered
19as a gentle giant; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Christopher Mau was preceded in death by his
21wife, Kathleen; and

1    WHEREAS, Christopher Mau is survived by his parents, Maren
2J. Olson and R. Charles (Donna) Mau; his mother-in-law,
3Marlene Kenney; his sister, Jennifer Mau-Beljaeff; his
4brother-in-law, Brian (Michelle) Kenney; his aunt, Mary Ann
5Greuel; his uncle, Donald H. Mau; his cousins, Jamie and Don
6Mau; his nieces and nephews, Stella (Charles) Laurent, Max
7Beljaeff, Greta Mau, Cole Kenney, and Megan Kenney; and Angus
8the dog and Fiona the cat; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
10HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
11we mourn the passing of Christopher Edward Mau and extend our
12sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew
13and loved him; and be it further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Christopher Mau as an expression of
16our deepest sympathy.
