HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to commend J.D. "Don" Holeman for his dedication to the Mt. Zion Township and the community for over 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Don Holeman is a resident of Mt. Zion Township; he graduated from Mt. Zion High School; he served in the U.S. Navy; and

WHEREAS, Don Holeman worked for PPG Industries for 30 years from April 1959 until his retirement in April 1989; and

WHEREAS, Don Holeman has served the residents of Mt. Zion Township in many capacities, including as cemetery trustee and community volunteer; during his tenure with the cemetery, he has been instrumental in leading many initiatives that have improved and enhanced the operations of the cemetery; and

WHEREAS, Don Holeman has spent countless hours volunteering and supporting organizations in the community over the past 60 years, including the Mt. Zion Youth Softball and Baseball Farm League, the Mt. Zion Junior Football League, the Mt. Zion Sports Boosters Club, Our Lady of the Holy Spirit, Holy Family Catholic School and Church, the Good Samaritan Inn, and many other organizations; and

WHEREAS, Don Holeman's dedication to public service and selfless leadership should be recognized and emulated; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we commend J.D. "Don" Holeman for being a dedicated leader and devoted servant to the Mt. Zion Township and community for over 60 years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Don Holeman as an expression of our esteem and respect.
