HOUSE RESOLUTION

2    WHEREAS, The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the State of
3Illinois and the world; and

4    WHEREAS, The COVID-19 pandemic, as dangerous as it has
5been, has also been overblown by the Director of the National
6Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Dr. Anthony
7Fauci; and

8    WHEREAS, In his position since 1984, Dr. Fauci has been a
9leader of every policy decision regarding infectious diseases
10for the past three decades; and

11    WHEREAS, During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Fauci
12repeatedly urged Americans to wear masks, at multiple points
13even suggesting individuals should wear more than one mask at
14a time, while sending internal emails suggesting that typical
15store-bought masks are not effective in keeping out the virus;
16and

17    WHEREAS, Dr. Fauci changed his recommendation on when and
18where to wear masks multiple times since the onset of the
19COVID-19 pandemic, often times leaving Americans more confused
20than informed, which encouraged a more judgmental society of
21those who did not choose to wear masks or those who did; and

1    WHEREAS, A growing number of individuals nationwide have
2become critical of Dr. Fauci's constant fluctuation of
3guidelines; and

4    WHEREAS, Congressman Warren Davidson (R-OH) has introduced
5HR 2316, known as the "Fauci's Incompetence Requires Early
6Dismissal" or "FIRED" Act; this Act provides that an
7individual may not hold the position of Director of the
8National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases for more
9than twelve years, effective retroactively; therefore, be it

10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
11HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
12due to the constant changing of guidance pertaining to the
13COVID-19 pandemic and the continuation of Dr. Fauci's more
14than three-decade "reign" over the United States' policies
15pertaining to any infectious disease outbreak, we believe Dr.
16Anthony Fauci must be relieved of his role; and be it further

17    RESOLVED, That we urge the United States Congress and
18President Joe Biden to pass the "Fauci's Incompetence Requires
19Early Dismissal" or "FIRED" Act; and be it further

20    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
21delivered to President Joe Biden, U.S. Senate Majority Leader
