HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The State of Illinois is enriched by its many residents who contribute to the fabric of Illinois society through their life experience; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Rose Hafemen Nardulli will celebrate her 100th birthday on February 4, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli was born in Antigo, Wisconsin on February 4, 1922 and lived there until June 1940, at which time she moved to Chicago in order to attend the American School of Nursing; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has continuously resided in Illinois for a period in excess of 80 years; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli served her community as a registered nurse until her retirement from St. Anne's Hospital in Chicago in 1990, where she served as head nurse in several different departments, including Orthopedics and Emergency Services; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli met Frank Nardulli on a swing set in Lafollette Park on the west side of Chicago before World War II and waited for him while he served in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli married Frank Nardulli on July 30, 1949 and remained happily married to him until his untimely death in 1976; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has been a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church located on the west side of Chicago for a period in excess of 80 years; and

WHEREAS, Pauline and Frank Nardulli raised five children, including Steven (Joyce), Debbie (Richard), Phil (Mary), Jim (Jamie), and Denise; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli has been blessed with 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and

WHEREAS, Pauline Nardulli currently resides in Ottawa with her son, Philip; and

WHEREAS, The State of Illinois has benefited from the many family, church, social and employment contributions made by Pauline Nardulli and is a much better place because of her contributions; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Pauline Nardulli on the occasion of her 100th birthday and thank her for her contributions and service to her family and her community; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Pauline Nardulli as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
