HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives learned with great sadness of the shooting of
4Officer Tyler J. Bailey of the Bradley Police Department, who
5was shot in the line of duty on December 29, 2021 and remains
6in critical condition; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey was born in Kankakee on May 7,
81994; he is the son of Darin Bailey and Danielle Hess; he
9married his wife, Sydney, in October 2021; he is one of six
10children and has three step-siblings; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey received his bachelor's degree in
12Criminal Justice from Illinois State University; from there,
13he began his journey to become a police officer; he attended
14the Southwestern Illinois College Police Academy, where his
15drive to be a morally and ethically sound officer grew; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Officer Bailey is known for being passionate
17about his role in law enforcement and wanting to help his
18community; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Outside of his career, Officer Bailey is a dog
20dad, an avid hunter and fisherman, a dedicated White Sox fan, a
21NASCAR enthusiast, and a quality husband, son, grandson,

1brother, and man; and
 
2    WHEREAS, The people of Illinois are fortunate to be served
3by the brave and dedicated law enforcement officers of our
4State, such as Officer Bailey, who risk their lives daily
5while carrying out their essential duties; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
7HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
8we express our profound respect for Officer Tyler J. Bailey
9and hope for a full and speedy recovery; and be it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That we honor the bravery and sacrifice of
11Officer Bailey, who risked his life while protecting the
12citizens of Bradley; and be it further
 
13    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Officer Bailey and the Bradley
15Police Department as an expression of our deepest
16appreciation.
