SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

625 ILCS 5/3-909

Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a remittance agent shall waive its fees for vehicle owners over the age of 65 and for vehicle owners who qualify for Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or any other State public assistance program.

AN ACT concerning transportation.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by changing Section 3-909 as follows:

(625 ILCS 5/3-909) (from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 3-909)

Sec. 3-909. Money accepted for remittance - Obligations of licensee.

(a) Each licensee shall forward to the remittee all money accepted for remittance not later than the fifth calendar day after the date upon which such money was received by the licensee, and shall promptly fulfill any other obligation it has undertaken in connection therewith.

(b) A remittance agent shall waive its fees for vehicle owners over the age of 65 and for vehicle owners who qualify for Medicaid, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or any other State public assistance program.
