SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Ronald Cornell Wiley, who passed away on June 17, 2022; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was born to Tavares McClendon and Carmalita Wiley in Chicago on April 10, 2004; he graduated from Catalyst Circle Rock Grade School; he graduated from Morton West High School, where he was an honor roll student and a member of the basketball team; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was an entertainer who loved music and was always dancing; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley committed to his faith at an early age; he was baptized at Helping Hand M.B Church, where he helped in many capacities; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was affectionately known as "Dooda"; he was loving, respectful, and intelligent; he will be remembered for his beautiful spirit; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley was preceded in death by his great-grandfathers, Johnny Wiley, Tommie Bays, T.C. Phillips Sr., and Eugene McClendon; his great-grandmothers, Pearline Wiley, Charlotte A. Bays, Alberta McClendon, and Vertis Phillips; his grandfather, Ronald Wiley; his uncles, Earl Brown and Kendren Phillips; his cousin, Juanita Seaton; his aunt, Dominique McClendon; and his godmother, Renee Dobbs-McKinney; and

WHEREAS, Ronald Wiley is survived by his mother, Carmalita Wiley; his father, Tavares (Felicia) McClendon; his stepfather, Antoine Garrett Sr.; his brothers, Antoine Garrett Jr., Malik McClendon, Stephon Jordan, and Jerrico Jordan; his cousins, Jakira, Kendra, Amari, Jeremiah, Josiah, Letoya, Glennise, and Shonda; his niece, Sianney; his nephews, Zayden and Zae'Brielle; his godmother, Linda Hall; his long-time girlfriend, Nyjia Rigsby; his honorary aunts, Tamika Barton and Chanta Kirby; and a host of additional cousins, aunts, and uncles; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Ronald Cornell Wiley and extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Ronald Wiley as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
