SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Lois Janet (Rischow) DeBellis of Palatine, who passed away on March 10, 2021; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeBellis was born in Chicago to Albert Rischow and Florence (Czarnik) Rischow on September 28, 1953; she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1975; she married Edward DeBellis; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeBellis worked as a nurse for 40 years; throughout her career, she specialized in caring for those with mental illness, those who were homebound, and those with special needs at school; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeBellis loved the outdoors; she traveled the country and visited various National Parks with her hiking group; she was lovingly referred to as "Wannawalk" by her hiking friends; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeBellis was preceded in death by her parents; her many aunts and uncles; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law; and

WHEREAS, Lois DeBellis is survived by her husband, Dr. Edward DeBellis, Psy.D.; her daughter, Lisa (Eric Schuller); her son, Eric (Anny Gonzalez); and her grandchildren, Asher and Ainsley Schuller; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Lois Janet (Rischow) DeBellis and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Lois DeBellis as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
