SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Charlie D. Jackson of Peoria, who
4passed away on December 2, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Charlie Jackson was born in Greenwood,
6Mississippi to James and Mary (Kent) Ashford on July 27, 1954;
7he married Julie Parker in Bartonville on April 17, 2004, and
8they were together for 16 years; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Charlie Jackson held various positions as a
10warehouse worker, with his last being at G&D Integrated; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Charlie Jackson was a true family man, and he was
12known for his jokes, having fun, and his love of playing with
13his grandchildren; he was an avid Chicago Bears Fan; he
14enjoyed bowling, playing basketball, and throwing darts; he
15will be deeply missed; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Charlie Jackson was preceded in death by his
17parents; his second wife, Rebecca Jackson; his granddaughter,
18Marjah Jackson; his brothers, Tyrone, Thomas, Jimmy, Blake,
19and Joe; and his sisters, Doris and Mamie; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Charlie Jackson is survived by his wife, Julie;

1his first wife, Teri Wright; his children, Michele (Jamie)
2Bensel, Robert Bush, James A. (Brandi) Jackson Sr., and Eddie
3(Jojo) Johnson Jr.; his grandchildren, James A. Jackson Jr.,
4Tyrese Jackson, and Nicole Jackson; his great-grandson, James
5A. Jackson III; his brothers, Hank and James; and his sisters,
6Flora Green, Shirley Johnson, Pat Jackson, Patricia Campbell,
7Venesa Carter, and Tammy Kent; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Charlie D. Jackson and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Charlie Jackson as an expression of
15our deepest sympathy.
